Wanted: Nonclinical data on the Spanish version of the TSCYC

Following release of the English version of the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Young Children (TSCYC), Psychological Assessment Resources (PAR) and John Briere are validating a Spanish version (the TSCYC-Sp) for eventual publication.  This measure has been translated by a team of bilingual researchers from various universities and centers, and has been developed in such a fashion to make it understandable to the broadest range of Spanish dialects.  We are now collecting normative data on this translation.

If you are considering a study of trauma symptoms in Hispanic children, as reported by their Spanish-speaking parents/caretakers, PAR may be able to provide you with free TSCYC-Sp protocols, in whatever quantity is needed.  In some cases, other assistance also may be possible.  In addition, you will be cited in the upcoming TSCYC-Sp Manual.

We only require that (1) participants be Spanish-speaking and from the general population, (2) you have IRB approval for your research at your university, and (3) you share your data with us (i.e., age, sex, ethnicity, and scores on the 90 items of the TSCYC-Sp).

Please contact John Briere at his email address for further information or to join this normative project
